About Ashley

Ashley is best known for his detailed drawings that depict some of our most cherished birds in their natural environment. 

From a young age Ashley has been entranced with our native flora and fauna. He has pursued many different subjects in his journey to becoming an artist, but the one constant has always been birds. Spending the majority of his childhood in the beautiful eastern north island countryside of Tiniroto, Ashley observed and studied an array of native birds. This is where his passion for drawing began to flourish. 

After moving to Wellington and attending high school and university, Ashley entered the workforce and for over five years, pursued other commitments, still drawing and creating but in a part time role. 

Now, Ashley has committed to the field of drawing and creates highly detailed works that encapsulate the stunning imagery of our native birds and bush.
